The Bookends

The Western edge of Lee County is where you’ll find Cape Coral. The Eastern edge is made up of Lehigh Acres. Both are large in size and completely different. Both were created during the Florida “land rush” years and feature miles of roads and 1/4 acre single-family lots. A large portion of homes located in these areas are fairly new construction.

Cape Coral

Rumored to have as many, if not more, canals than Venice, Italy, this is an attractive destination for those looking for affordable water front. Cape Coral is Lee County’s largest city, running from the mouth of the Caloosahatchee River to the S, all the way to the Charlotte County line to the N.

Lehigh Acres

Originally the Lucky Lee Ranch, owned by a Chicago business man, the ranch was platted and marketed to retirees looking to escape Northern winters. Lehigh Acres is still largely a “bedroom” community, with homes far outweighing commercial endeavors.

Home Prices

Home prices will vary greatly depending on the amount of waterfront and neighborhood.

Schools

Public schools in Lee County are assigned on an open-enrollment basis. Meaning parents rank a variety of schools close to where you live.
